Heath Fruit Farm has existed for generations as a small, family friendly business.
It all began on the site of the present Budgens, where the grandfather of the owner, Mr EJ Wallis, had a fruit garden. The family business grew after more land was acquired on Bluntisham Heath after the First World War.
The orchards are kept tidy and largely free from pests, but we have lots of smaller areas devoted to wildlife with rambling hedgerows, ponds and a small copse. We see lots of Hares, Butterflies, Roe Deer, Woodpeckers, Owls, and many other birds.
We always aim to conserve wildlife and varities of local interest, such as Perfection apple and the Wallis Wonder plum, which were bred by the current owner in partnership with his father.
We believe our fruit gains its rich flavour from the heavy clay soils, which retain moisture and help the trees through dry spells.
We take great pleasure in serving the local communities with our fruit, we put hours of hard work and much love and care into growing it for you to enjoy.
We are located overlooking the fabulous agricultural region of the Cambridgeshire fens, in a village which was once almost completely based on the profession of fruit growing. The farm is very close to the hilltop landmark of Bluntisham's water towers.
