Some people like them hard and green in September, and others prefer them ripe and full of juice later in the season. Whichever way you like your pears, we have a good choice of varieties which you won't see in the shops, as well as the ever popular Conference.
We have a few Quince trees on the farm, so, if you like making Quince jelly, we usually have Quinces picked at the end of October.
Comice pears- lots of people don't know what they are missing! Try one and you will love this fine textured, beautifully flavoured pear.
Big, yellow Pitmaston Duchess are great for cooking with, lending themselves to desserts and preserves.
Concord are a cross between Comice and Conference, while Superfin are the 'sherberty' sidekick of Comice.
Buerre Hardy is an early season pear and Conference are usually available from September - February
